How I am staying on top of wedding trends for 2023

When planning a wedding, it's important to consider the guests' experience and ensure that everyone has a fun and memorable time. That's why I always like to keep my finger on the pulse of the new and unique vendors and ideas!

Have you ever heard of the Big Fake Wedding? It's an experiential wedding show concept where you can actually see vendors in action:

"A wedding show alternative complete with an emotional vow renewal ceremony, light bites, and a dance-party reception."

I worked with them during their 2022 tour through Seattle and experienced some fun new trends that I'm sure are going to be happening this year in a big way, so I knew I just had to share them with you!

There are multiple factors that contribute to the overall atmosphere of a wedding, which is why I've put together this list - to guarantee your guests have a blast at your wedding. From the food and entertainment to the music, I'll cover all the essentials.

Offer a variety of food and drinks

Consider offering a diverse selection of food and drinks to cater to different tastes and dietary restrictions. Having a well-stocked bar and options for non-alcoholic beverages can also help guests feel more comfortable and relaxed.

Unique options like this ice cream cart by Aha Party Co are sure to up the whimsy!

Create a lively atmosphere

Work with your musician to choose the right music to appeal to different age groups and encourage dancing. Make sure to choose a DJ or musician that has experience playing at weddings and can read the crowd. You can also incorporate other fun activities, like a photo booth or lawn games, to keep guests entertained.

This photo booth (also by Aha Party Co) is a showstopper - talk about super fun!

Consider the seating arrangements

Seating arrangements can play a big role in the overall feel of the wedding. Consider seating guests with people they know or have things in common with to encourage conversation and camaraderie. You could allow for open seating, but unless your guests are already familiar with each other, there will probably be less mixing and new connections being made since people tend to stick around those they already know.

Provide thoughtful touches

Little touches like welcome bags, thoughtful favors, or a surprise musical performance can make guests feel appreciated and included.

Whether it's a favorite song that you danced to on your first date, a genre that represents your shared interests, or a piece that has significance within your culture or family history, the right music makes all the difference in creating your one-of-a-kind wedding day, tying together multiple elements into one cohesive experience.

Music? Handled. Let's get started!
