A "Bridgerton" Winery Wedding

Y and B tied the knot with the support of their closest family and friends at Icicle Creek Winery. The rustic log cabin style home is beautifully reminiscent of a getaway home in the country that a character from "Bridgerton" may enjoy while escaping the city. Surrounded by rolling vineyards and snow-peaked mountains, the setting was picture perfect for Y and B's early spring wedding.

"It reminds me of waking up in the country, first thing in the morning when I am all alone. I have not yet spoken to a soul. I look outside the window and it is serene." - Daphne Bridgerton, "Bridgerton"

When we initially had our discovery call, Y let me know how she was dreaming of "Bridgerton-style music" specifically for her Ceremony and Dinner, and wanted it to have a light and mingling feel to it, so their family and friends would be able to soak in the ambiance. I was so excited to get started on this setlist - with the recent release of the second season of the highly rated show on Netflix, the popularity of modern songs performed in a Classical style is also on the rise.

When putting together their Ceremony and Dinner setlists, I focused first on songs that were lyrical and ballad-like. These would translate beautifully into a Classical style. I sourced instrumental tracks to accompany me, played by piano and guitar, and rewrote the melodies to blend seamlessly with them. Y and B shared their first dance outdoors at twilight after emerging from under an arch of sparklers held by their family and friends. "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran was Y and B's favorite song, so I blended the intro with the body of "Marry You" by Bruno Mars for a fun and unexpected uptick in energy.

“This is the first chapter of a happy story.” -Kate Sharma, "Bridgerton"

The couple had choreographed their first dance so I edited the song length to ensure that it matched up with their choreography. Their guests cheered when "Marry You" started, and after their magical moment, Y and B invited all the other couples in attendance to share a dance with them to "You Are the Reason" by Callum Scott. Despite the chill in the night air, it made for such a romantic mood that their guests took their time filing inside afterward for dinner.

Y was the first to start off the toasts, and she had prepared a special gift for B. She had been practicing "Perfect" to play on her guitar as a surprise and she asked that I accompany her. It was a touching gesture, and I was only too happy to oblige.

After the toasts, the dining tables were pushed aside and everyone took to the dance floor! Under the colored lights we finished out the evening with everything from "Despacito" to "Watermelon Sugar" and "Havana" to "Firework". It was such a joy-filled celebration, beginning to end.

"Thank you so much for your beautiful music, Christie! Everyone was impressed and had an absolute blast! We couldn’t have asked for more!❤️"- Y
